What the role involves
You build and run your own book of motor finance customers, working for yourself with our infrastructure behind you. You own the relationships; we provide the lender panel, the systems and the compliance framework.
- Source and advise your own customers.
- Place each deal across the lender panel rather than with a single lender.
- See an application through from proposal to payout.
- Build income from a book you own.
The regulatory position
Credit broking is a regulated activity. Most self-employed brokers operate as an appointed representative of a directly authorised firm, which means working under that firm's permissions and supervision. Q-Finance is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as a credit broker, not a lender.
We will set out the route on offer, and the supervision, training and complaints arrangements that go with it, before you commit to anything. What appointed representative status actually involves — the obligations on both sides, and how it differs from an introducer appointment — is set out on our appointed representative page.
What we provide
- Access to the lender panel.
- Proposal, application and e-sign systems.
- Compliance framework, training and supervision.
- Introductions from the wider Q-Finance customer and dealer base.
- Marketing support and a presence on this site.
We will confirm exactly what is included, and what you are expected to provide yourself, in writing.
Who it suits
It suits someone with motor finance or motor trade experience who wants to work for themselves without building the regulatory and systems infrastructure from scratch. It is not a passive income scheme, and it is not a fast one — a book takes time to build.
